Amy’s Attitude: Spring 2025
Posted on May 19, 2025

I wish I had known her better.
I mean, EVERYONE knew Nicole. How could you not? She was vivacious, caring, outgoing, complimentary, open, supportive, helpful… all those things and a whole lot more goodness. She shared her personal and professional journeys with us through her social media accounts, and she courageously shared her cancer diagnosis and short battle.
What a loss we suffered when we lost Nicole Baron on April 29, 2025.
For me, the Baron family has always epitomized togetherness. Almost every DPCA National that I have attended, mom, dad, brother and sister have been there celebrating the Doberman Pinscher.
I remember Nicole sneaking into the Best of Breed ring with her MinPin behind the back of judge Sam Burke. The arena erupted into laughter when Sam saw Nicole and her prize exhibit.
I remember the incredible tears of joy that everyone shed when the Baron’s Lexi was awarded Best of Breed from the Veteran’s class under Faye Strauss.
I remember when Nicole owner handled her beautiful girl, Mimi, to the Grand Prize Futurity win under Michelle Santana.

I remember Nicole being kind and complimentary of my selections when I judged the Futurity.
I remember Nicole having her finger in many peoples’ successes with their Dobermans and the genuine gratefulness these people had for Nicole.
I remember Nicole being helpful to me when needing transportation of a dog.
I remember her smile.
What I don’t remember is Nicole being negative or unkind or shrewd.
The first time I met Nicole was in 2004. I just wish I had known her better.
Rest easy.
You were a friend to all.
